Can anything be done for this dishwasher casualty?

so my mom threw my nalges in the dishwasher when I was away, and somehow the threads of one of them melted and now the cap won't screw on. No idea how this happened because they are supposed to be dishwasher safe and I've washed this one and other ones hundreds of times.

If not it's no big deal but like this nalge has been on countless hiking, biking, and road trips with me not to mention at a lot of my band's shows. It was my favorite one and actually I don't think REI even makes this color anymore.

Unopened Rider Backs from 2008 desirable?

Hi all, sorry if this is a noob question. In 2008 when I was a teenager I got a two pack of bicycle playing cards from Target. I opened the red deck right away; it was used to play poker in high school and drinking games in college. The blue deck I intended to save for a bit but next thing you know it's been sitting unopened for 18 years.

I've been getting back into cards and I was thinking about finally opening this deck that's old enough to drive now, but I saw some threads where people said they may be worth money now, is that right? Should I leave them unopened?
