How to build muscle with a radial meniscus tear

I had a meniscus tear pre soccer season and I was told by coaches and trainers that it was just my IT band, so I played through all my practices 5 days a week and played through half of my soccer season before I became way too unbearable to take anymore. I stop playing and went to multiple doctors, was told to go to different places and between that I started jogging and felt fine to get back to soccer but on my 3rd sprint back I felt something in my knee with unbearable pain(couldn’t bend my knee for 5 days). I finally went to a right docter and finally got mri, this was a span of 7 months October-current. Now I got my mri and I have a radial meniscus tear and they said I need surgery which I have coming up in less than a month. My problem is my legs are really weak, I’m 17 6’2 max squating 145 and want to grow my legs but need tips on how to with this knee injury.
