Preply needs to be strict about professionalism!!!
I mean what on earth is this? Even if it’s casual come on

I mean what on earth is this? Even if it’s casual come on
I have an A1+ corporate student (marketing background, using English for professional/tourism goals). When she first signed up, she was actually very enthusiastic she would sometimes book 2–3 classes in a day.
But since then, the pattern has been very inconsistent from the start. It has shifted from high engagement to long gaps, last-minute cancellations, and now it’s usually just one class every few weeks, like one class a month.
There’s been no stable rhythm at any point, and I’ve tried to stay flexible and understanding throughout.
What’s interesting is that I was literally preparing how to have a gentle but honest conversation with her today about consistency and how it affects her progress and she messaged me 15 minutes before the class asking to reschedule.
At this point I’m trying to figure out the right balance between:
- being flexible and client friendly
- and protecting structure, progress, and my own schedule
Because at A1+ level, inconsistency really slows everything down.
What would you do here?
