What is the Paul Reed Smith equivalent for other instruments?
It's a very multifaceted question. After all, PRS guitars are incredibly flexible instruments, ideal for everything from blues lawyers to that scumbag tone.
For basses I'm mainly thinking Sadowskys, since I'm pretty sure their 5 string Js can vaporise you on contact if you don't have the right sort of degree. They're also active and utterly soulless, which almost makes them a strong contender, were it not for the fact that they don't really do scumbag to my knowledge. That's more of a Fieldy-esque Ibanez sort of thing.
Warwicks kinda do both, but I don't want that to be true because of Zender. Love early Jamiroquai. I'd also kinda get it if you'd say Music Man or maybe even G&L (RIP). I think those brands are all much too likeable.
PRS do have some basses, but they're just not the same to me.
I'm really stuck here. Maybe bass doesn't have a true PRS equivalent? What about other instruments?
