Can’t decide whether to buy new or used quad.
Hi everyone, recently my friend traded his horse for Can Am DS 450. He let me try it and it was my first time ever driving a quad. I don’t have a background in driving ATVs and never touched a bike in 28 years of my life. However, driving this thing was so exhilarating that I can’t stop thinking of buying something for myself.
However, I’m stuck figuring out what to get. I’ve been looking at a Raptor 700r as I’m in California and that’s the only option as far as I know for a sport quad that’s new. People tell me buying and financing a new one is better because you know what it’s been through as opposed to buying used.
But I’m also interested in the idea of buying something used that’s affordable and I can use it to have fun and occasionally hit local trails. Online people have suggested a Honda 400ex. What are your thoughts and what would you have done if you were to get your first quad bike?
