Intermittent problems connecting to CarPlay on my '23 HiHy. Can I connect via Bluetooth menu settings?

I have a '23 HiHy Platinum. Most of the time my iPhone 16 connects wirelessly to CarPlay and it works fine. Every once in a while my iPhone doesn't connect. I don't notice it immediately because I'm usually backing out of my driveway, watching traffic and don't see the screen until I'm driving down my street. If I stop the car and turn it off, it's always reconnected. Depending on where I am, that's not convenient. For example, if I've gotten on a freeway before I realize it hasn't connected.

I've tried going to the Setting menu and try to get it to connect from the Bluetooth settings, so I don't have to stop the car and re-start it. That worked once, but the last couple of times I tried it, it doesn't work. Did I do something that one time that is necessary to make it connect? Is there some way to get my car to connect to my iPhone through the settings?

Do I have to buy a reader for Libre 3 Plus?

I've been using the FreeStyle Libre 2 and 2-Plus for several years (which is now fully covered by Medicare and my supplemental insurance). My doctor recommended that I switch to the Libre 3 Plus. I just received a shipment of sensors, but no reader. The supplier said that Medicare will only pay for a new reader every 5 years and they sent me a new reader (for the Libre 2) 2 years ago. They want me to pay them $300 for a Libre 3-Plus reader.

This seems absurd to me. The Libre 3-Plus is a different product, so it requires a new reader. The old one is useless. Can I make an argument to Medicare that they should cover a new reader? Or is there somewhere I can get a free reader?

Yes, I know that I could use the app on my iPhone, but I've found the Libre reader simpler and more convenient to use.

Want to upgrade from iPad mini 5. To what?

I like my iPad mini 5, but with only 64gb memory I've had to offload lots of apps. In addition, the battery life is declining but spending money on a replacement battery would be a waste on money. Also, it seems fairly slow with significant, frequent delays. I like the mini form factor because I use it most as a reader and I can easily hold it with one hand.

What should I upgrade to? I think I should get one with 256gb memory. I'm pretty sure that would be more than enough. I'm thinking of a new, or refurbished, 7th Gen mini. Or would a used or refurbished 6th Gen with 256gb be sufficient? Would going to 512gb make any difference for performance? Money is a concern so I don't want to spend any more than I need to.

I've read about a possible iPad mini 8 coming but don't think I'm willing to wait for that.

Any advice would be appreciated.
