Starting at MIT in the fall and trying to figure out what to bring. Not looking for the obvious stuff, more like the random things you wish someone had told you about before move-in. Gadgets, room setup, whatever you actually use day to day. What would you get if you were starting over?
So I’m applying for an F1 visa at the US Embassy in Yaoundé, Cameroon. I ran into a payment issue on usvisaappt.com and had to cancel my pending application and start over a couple of times. Now I have two identical entries showing on my payment page (same name, same DS-160 number, even same avits reference code) and the system is forcing me to pay for both, charging me $370 instead of $185.
When I go to the “My Applicants” section it only shows one name, but on the payment screen both entries are selected together and I can’t deselect one.
I emailed AVITS support two days ago (was unable to create a ticket because a drop-down required field didn’t drop-down) and got no response. Called today and they’re closed for a holiday.
Has anyone dealt with this before? Did AVITS fix it from their end, or is there another way around it?
