What are your thoughts on Ringmod sidechaining?

Ringmod sidechaining gives you a beautifully clean sidechain on a waveform level, but depending on the track, it can be hit or miss.

Even within the exact same song, it might sit perfectly in one section but clash in another

Obviously, it all boils down to the golden rule of "if it sounds good, keep it; if not, ditch it," but as a general trend, what kind of tracks or contexts do you guys think pair best with a ringmod sidechain?

I’m not looking for an objectively "correct" answer here,

I really just wanna hear the logic behind your choices

*Note: I don't want you to be like "use it if your track is heavy" comments. I already know

Why do bass music producers use compressors on the master channel?

I often see EDM producers—especially in bass music—slapping Ozone or other dynamic compressors onto the master channel during the mastering stage to compress the whole track. What is the actual reasoning behind doing this?

Personally, I might put a clipper on my master channel, but I completely avoid using compressors or bus compressors because I feel compressing the entire mix ruins its clarity

I get that it ultimately comes down to personal preference, but I wanna hear the logic behind your approach

*Appreciate all the replies, everybody!

Why do multiband compressors cause phase shift?

I understand why tools like Disperser or All-pass filters cause phase shift,
but I don’t get why it happens with multiband compressors

Simply splitting the signal into different frequency bands shouldn't cause phase shift on its own,
if you're just splitting the bands, it’s essentially the same as a Frequency Split so, why exactly does a multiband compressor introduce phase shift?

;it’s a basic question, but pls anybody explain the technical reason behind this?

*Also, one more question

For example, let's say I don't use a dedicated crossover filter, but instead split the signal by using a low-pass filter for everything below 300Hz and a high-pass filter for everything above 300Hz
If I then apply different effects to each of those bands, would any problems arise from not using a proper crossover filter?
