Favourite moment of each Jade song
This is a very niche post (clearly procrastinating), but as someone obsessed with the album who has listened to every song inside out I’ve been thinking about my favourite moment of each song that really hits for me. It’s hard because so many of the songs are so interesting structurally and all have so many different moments to enjoy throughout, but I tried to think about the big satisfying earworm moments of each song
Angel of my Dreams - I mean this is hard as the whole song is so diverse, but the moment when the final chorus drops at 2.43 and that final “AHHHHHH” into the sad chorus again is honestly a contender for the best moment in pop music ever tbh
IT Girl - my favourite moment of this song is definitely the “I’m not your thiiiing I’m not your babydoll” section which just is so fierce to me
FUFN - the drop of the final chorus when she starts doing all of the ad libs is so satisfying, particularly when it goes from quiet and pulled back to then full wham on the “DOING IT TONIGHT”
Plastic Box - a hard one but I think it’s the chorus hitting for me, or the second “it’s irrational and impossible”
Midnight Cowboy - not my fave but I think the end with the outro talking bit takes it
Fantasy - I love the quiet drop of the second chorus when everything is pulled back and the build back into the full chorus
Unconditional - the intro of the chorus really hits for me with the build up into it after the big drum beats as it’s just not where you expect the song to go
Self Saboteur - one of my faves with two key moments that stick out. I love when we get to the “so high and I’m hitting the floor” but also live for the outro
Lip Service - the harmony on “up in the clouds when you go down”
Headache - definitely the high outro at the end is by far the best bit of the song for me
Natural at disaster - the harmony on “I’m pretty sure that you’re the devil” is so dramatic going into the second chorus and I love it so much (also love the end of the final chorus “does that make me weak”
Glitch - I think the “Lee eee ee ee eeeave leave me alone” is the highest
Before you break my heart - the entire bridge into the chorus from “you’re the dream that I’ve had for so long” into the build to the chorus is such an earworm
Silent Disco - one of my faves, a very specific moment but the start of the second bridge “when you make love to me” there’s a swell in the production that is so warm and satisfying and feels like a rich ensemble of vocals coming up along with extra instruments. Also obviously love all of the super high bits too
Church - I loooove the start of the second chorus - up until that point the song really teases up and then I feel like the production goes full out
This is what we dance for - definitely the drop at the end when you think the song is almost over and it goes into “this is what! This is what!”
Use Me - “I’ll give you everything you want from me!” Vocals there are gorge
Best you could - the high chorus is obviously gorgeous and very Enya-coded, but something about the specific line and the way she sings “seeing you feel bad really breaks my heart” with such warmth is beautiful
If my heart was a house - 100% the drop into the big beat is incredible
Tar - “is happiness such a crime….” this whole high head voice bit is stunning
