Rucking stats and what to improve
Just got done a ruck, 5km, 51:33 time, 65Ibs, 15:03/mile avg pace, 163 avg hr, 191 highest hr. 6’1, 170Ibs, 19 years old with no injuries.
Im going into Infantry School in 2 months and have lots of time to train throughout the day. In the long term I want to try out for SOF selection but I’m mostly building foundational skills and physical capabilities currently just to be a good soldier and infantryman.
I did mostly brisk walking with a few ruck running intervals when a hill would appear which explains my hr being so high there, the terrain was mostly gravel with a decent bit of elevation throughout. My ruck is issued and I didn’t use the waist belt because it stays too low on me to where it’s on my hip bone and not my waist.
I just really wanna master rucking and improve as much as possible wherever possible. I know there’s tons of experienced and knowledgeable guys here and I’d be grateful if anyone shared some knowledge with me.
Thanks!
