Today’s the day

In about five hours I’ll be in surgery. My heaviest ever weight was 530 lbs. When I scheduled all of this, I weighed 460. Today I weigh 413. Wish me luck. I’m nervous but also excited and very ready for this to be over and I can start my new life.

One week to go

I leave for San Diego on Monday and my SADI-S surgery is scheduled for Tuesday at Mexico Bariatric Center. I’m very nervous and excited but mostly just ready for it to happen. I’ve been on the pre-op diet for two weeks now. It’s not too bad. I’m not restricted to just liquids like some people are. Just no carbs, dairy, and as little fat as possible. I’ve lost 20 pounds. But I had a stint in the hospital in early April with an infection which also caused me to lose a lot of weight. So I’ve lost 50 pounds since March 31. I definitely feel much healthier and stronger than before and I’m ready take on life post-op. This has been something I’ve wanted for decades and it’s crazy to me that it’s finally happening. Any advice from others who have had SADI-S and/or gone to Mexico for it is very welcome.
