I cant see any jobs for Senior Frontend Engineer , i am exhausted now

Is it just me, or has the market for Senior Frontend Engineer roles become incredibly quiet?

I've been searching consistently, and I'm barely seeing any openings anymore. It's honestly exhausting.

Sometimes I wonder—if companies aren't hiring UI engineers, who's building and maintaining all these web applications we use every day?

Is anyone else in the same boat, or are you seeing something different in the market?

They keep posting the same stale jobs everyday , What a joke !!

Maybe the reality is something else !!

Maybe the role was never truly open.
These jobs keep getting reposted every day , and candidates keep wondering what's wrong with them.

A Hiring Manager/Interviewer Asked Me to Show “Proof of Work” During an Interview

During an interview, I was asked to show the applications I had worked on.

Enterprise applications. Restricted systems. Things sitting behind authentication, VPNs, and company security policies.

I explained that these systems weren't publicly accessible.

Then things got stranger.

The interviewer turned off his camera midway through the interview. The conversation went nowhere. I was later rejected, with no meaningful feedback.

It genuinely made me wonder: Was this an interview, or had the decision already been made and we were simply looking for a reason?

Because evaluating a senior engineer should mean discussing , decisions, trade-offs and impact — not asking them to produce confidential company systems on demand.

Verdict : i got a rejection mail next day !

10+ YOE Staff Engineer interview and THIS was the question 💀

Joined an interview for a Staff/Senior Engineer role today.

Interviewer: “Suppose I write <div>xyz</div> and save it as .html. What will happen?”

Me: “Sorry… what exactly are you asking?”

Him: repeats the same question.

At this point I genuinely couldn't believe this was a Staff Engineer interview.

I asked, “Are you seriously assessing HTML like this for a Staff role?”

Then I just said, “I’m sorry, I’ll have to drop. Thank you so much.” And left.

I’m all for testing fundamentals. Ask me browser internals, DOM construction, rendering pipeline, accessibility, — absolutely.

But “I saved a div in an HTML file, what happens?” for someone with 10+ YOE?

What exactly are we evaluating here? Whether I know that a browser can open an HTML file? 😭

Maybe the next round was going to be “What happens when you click a button?” 💀

Would you have continued this interview?

If You Want to Understand a Company's Culture, Start with the HR Conversation | Red Flags | Work-Life Balance Isn't Negotiable |

So, I recently had an screening interview with a company . At first , The recruiter didn't join the scheduled call. After waiting for almost 15 min , I followed up, then she mentioned she was having internet issues. That can happen. she asked me to rejoin after 1 hour .So i joined back,

It started with knowing about my experience and then I was asked if I could work on weekends. I explained that Sundays were reserved for personal commitments. I was then told that it would require around nine hours shift on weekends . I said I could help occasionally for a couple of hours, but not give up every Saturday.

She says we would let you know if we at all decide to move forward .I said sure .

Soon after, I received a rejection email.

And honestly, I'm happy about it.

Every interview teaches you something—not just about the role, but about the company and its culture. To me Work-life balance is a necessity.

To the HR reading this , Thankyou for the rejection ,you helped me avoid the wrong fit.

Off camera interviewers and HR's , what do you represent mostly your company culture ?

Recently, I had interviews with Aptiv, Publicis Sapient, RingCentral, Standard Chartered Bank, and Oleria.

A common pattern I noticed: senior interviewers choosing to keep their cameras off throughout the interview.

What exactly are you evaluating while hiding behind a black screen?

You expect candidates to be on time, well prepared, professionally dressed, and camera-on. Why doesn't the same standard apply to the interview panel? Is this the culture your company wants candidates to experience?

In one recent interview, I chose to withdraw rather than continue under those conditions. In others, I stayed, only to be grilled for over an hour by two or three interviewers who all kept their cameras off.

This isn't about rejection. Companies have every right to reject candidates. It's about basic professionalism and mutual respect.

Going forward, I will withdraw from interviews where the panel refuses to turn on their cameras. An interview is a two-way evaluation, and professionalism is expected from both sides.

If you're representing your company, please represent it with the same seriousness you expect from every candidate.

Confused recruiter !!

A recruiter called me today regarding an opportunity with Dentsu Global.

She first asked whether I had experience in full-stack development. I asked her which technologies the role specifically required. She mentioned Node.js/Python on the backend and React/React Native on the frontend.

I told her that I have experience with Node.js and React. She then asked whether I had experience with Python, and I honestly said that I didn't.

After that, she asked, "So did you start your career with Node.js?" I clarified that I actually began my career as a Java Full-Stack Developer, working with Java, Spring, Hibernate, and frontend technologies before later working with Node.js.

She responded by saying, "Allow me some time, I'll call you back." However, I never received a follow-up call. I could not really understand what was she looking for exactly !!

Do you want dancing cows to code ? whats wrong with the frontend jobs ? barely getting calls . even though interviews go well , getting rejected . I see two genrations sitting in the hiring committee , juniors whoa re asking theoritical questions and rejecting ,and senior management who havent upgraded themselves since ages rejectign again, some are rejecting in ego ,as they feel as technically incompetent by seeing your capabilities , all losers are only running IT SECTOR !!

Same happened with standard chartered bank,Uncle interviewer with camera off , was asking all questions ,grilled , dint know what authentication question he was asking, he ghosted me eventually , God knows what these losers are looking for , when you look at their professional background , you will know what they were anyways losers ,sorry i wanted to rant , beacuse those whoa re takign interviews right now are thinkign themselves as god,you are not , fillign 1 position and taking 1000 interviews ,the role is opened since 8 months , what are you even doing , if you have no plans to hire , please dont do time pass with candidates , we have to pay bills ,we get demotivated , Losers !!

Pathetic interviewers , come faceless , just to do time pass and ask non relevant questions ,what is this trend?

Recently appeared for an interview for a Senior frontend develoepr at some mediocre company , Hyderbad , this interviewer was reading my resume aloud during the interview , Now the first question he asks me do you know database, how to read/write a query . i said yes, i hvw orked , now the next question he asked was tell me about a json structue ,what kind of questions are these ,who appoints these people ,i left the call because i found it quite irrelevant , I mean what is this market ? Faceless interviewers , why cant you face the camera and ask questions

They grill you in an about for 1 hour or more, Trust me tells a lot about your culture. specially if you are the female candiadate it gets uncomfortable , where i am supposed to look , on a blank screen ,, seriously cowards do this , incompetent people who dont have courage to face thing sin life .Sometimes i feel i should just leave but , i hate corporate already, no sense at all , Not all companies but some , Please dont take interviewers you dont have manners ,please save the world ,make it a better place , happenign with both generations young an old , its very annoying , I am so irriatted already !!

How is everyone keeping up with the shitty job search phase ,

Is hiring even going on ??? Looks like interviewers , hiring managers and HRs are doing time pass and enjoying it , Dont bother to reply, even if interviews go well , they reject and fail to provide reason , What is this inhuman era ??? Most of the fronten djobs have been eliminated and gettign replaced by full stack , They dont know they a re enterign a massive tech debt era , Eliminating roles wont ,help , and Time pass wont help either , i am observign that the hiring is sometimes going on since 6-7 months , may be they are hiring a NASA Scientist ,
