Should I try for medical waiver?
For context I'm a senior in college and would love to join the military as an officer. The thing is, when I was a child (11-14 y/o) I had some issues with depression and anxiety. Was hospitalized twice, took medications on and off for depression and anxiety (there were too many to keep track of), and was in outpatient until I began high school.
The last time I took a prescription medication (Prozac) was almost 3 years ago (will probably be 4 by the time I'd join, although it still shows as an "active prescription" on my portal for some reason). Even then, I was mostly only taking it because I was told to by my doctors and psychiatrists and such. I have exhibited absolutely no symptoms, counseling, medication, etc. for almost three years with a year left to go in my education.
My basic question is am I screwed? I've read a lot that hospitalizations are universally disqualifying, but it was so long ago and obviously outside of my control. I am a completely different person now, for whatever that's worth.
Bonus question: Is a 3.75+ GPA competitive? I'm getting a public policy degree so not super impressive, but I'm just curious.
