Jake relapsing in season 21?
I mean no disrespect and I think Jake is a tremendous human being who has worked helluva hard. He’s smart, honest and dedicated.
Seeing him in season 21 up to episode 6, I am wondering if he’s being filmed while relapsing. He’s mumbling and acting slowed down. He looks terrible with his pallid sweating bloated face (sorry I can’t sugar coat what I see, he’s normally a very handsome guy with stunning eyes), like Ray Liotta at the end of Goodfellas. I know he’s handling major stress, career and family wise, and is probably not getting any sleep, but those are also perfect circumstances for a bad relapse. Jake is an experienced and respected adult who can mask drug use from his friends and colleagues or at least get them to ignore it, seeing but no seeing, but looking from outside he seems like a relatively high functioning addict who is starting to crash. I don’t have anything apart from respect for him, he’s going through a terrible time and keeps on getting kicked down when he starts rising, with the boat and family problems. The man is made of steel but even steel rusts.
Drug use on these boats is an open secret with uppers and downers being used to handle the stress and workload. On shore it’s alcohol and more recreational drugs. The work and life is hard. I’m not judging, just wondering. Good luck to him if he needs to get back on the wagon, if anybody can, he can.
