I am not a fan of 45s/ 7" vynil, mostly because I rarely ever want to go through the inconvenience of hauling my records to a separate room, and setting up my turntable for 1 or 2 songs, HOWEVER, I really, reeealllyy wanted to hear "Young", so I caved and bought myself a Crying Fire 7" (and a keychain, but I've wanted one of those for awhiiiile). I know John said they're trying to figure out how to release it during the Crying Fire premiere QnA, but I didn't wanna have to wait a super long time to listen to it, and hey, Avatar deserves the extra few dollars. lol

I really like "Young", it's super cool! >!A little different but not un-Avatar-like! It reminds me a bit, style-wise, of Feathers and Flesh, it really sounds like it could be worked into that album. It also reminds me a bit of the Devin Townsend Project stuff which isn't shocking considering Johannes has called Devin one of his biggest inspirations a handful of times... it's very artsy, very pretty-sounding.!< I hope eventually it makes it onto streaming services or for download at some point because I would love to be able to listen to it all the time. <3

I totally forgot to post this sketch of Tim inspired by the song/music video when I first drew it, so here it is now! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE SONG, it's so melancholic and beautiful, and the guitar solo is awesome. Also included a very quick sketch of Jonas, and and an incredibly messy oversized doodle of Johannes with 4 arms (based off a dream I had).

My signed print finally arrived in the mail today, so I framed all the random bits and bobs I got from the show.

If the guy who gave me the "Ice" trading card sees this, thanks again! And I'm sorry, but I forgot your username... I was a bit frazzled all day because that was my first Secret Gathering and I was a little anxious about it. :')

Also, I kept the order number sticker on my my laminate because coincidentally that was my 10th Avatar show, and I thought having order no.10 was kinda cool.

Only marked as NSFW because I know plenty of people wouldn't want a gimp suit with a visible bulge popping up on their feed unprompted. lol Anyway, done with a mechanical no.2 pencil, some near-dead alcohol markers, and a gel pen last night before bedtime.

Crying Fire... guys... it's so good. It's so melodic and beautiful and dark, I love it. The main riff is fucking amazing, but of course it is.<3 I am genuinely obsessed with this weird, nightmarish vibe the whole DGITF era has had, it's fantastic. Even if so many of the songs make me cry- oops. LOL

Anyways, here's a John I drew the night before last in anticipation/excitement for the new song!!!

// Boring stuff about the drawing: Every year during Pride Month, people discuss various queer artists from throughout history and one of the most famous ones is Keith Haring. I really like his art, I absolutely love his use of geometry, poses, composition and negative space. I know plenty of people think his work looks juvenile or amateur, but I think those people just don't have any joy or whimsy in their heart... but also the juxtaposition of his bubbly style and the very real and serious themes he expressed in that style is very interesting. (Also his style was adopted from graffiti/tagging, that's why it's so simple) This piece is very much inspired by Haring, even if it looks absolutely fuck-all like it, I still wanted to give credit where credit is due. <3

Both are a 10/10 imo, but strawberry lemonade and the "bombpop" flavor combo are genuinely some of my favorite flavors ever so I am incredibly biased there. lol

Sadly, I don't have a colored version of this video since I recorded it with this black and white filter on Instagram, buuut is still a good video of my lil guy Nova making his ekek noises, filter be damned. lol
