The Baby Boom of 1975
By 1975, South Vietnam was facing a baby boom due to improved medical care leading to the decline in infant mortality. This population boom led to some challenges the Republic had slated to tackle head on in the UN in the summer of 1975. Unfortunately, it was never to be.
The fact that a baby boom ever happened in South Vietnam and was one of the main issues the country was facing near the end speaks volumes of the efforts and success South Vietnam had in improving the welfare of their people.
