Diagnosed with IBD in March 2026. Currently on Mesacol OD and Colospa, but my stool is still inconsistent. How do I achieve full remission?

I am currently taking Mesacol OD 1.2g (twice daily) and have been for 5 months, alongside Colospa 400mg for the last 2 months. My symptoms started about a year ago with 2–3 loose stools a day. In March 2026, I was officially diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).Currently, 90% of the time, I only pass stool once a day. However, my bowel movements are still very inconsistent. Some days I do not pass any stool at all. On days I do, it is usually not watery diarrhea, but it lacks any solid shape or form. Occasionally, I still experience loose stools.

Since I am still experiencing this inconsistency despite my medication, what steps should I take next to achieve complete, stable remission? Any advice on diet, lifestyle, or medical adjustments would be highly appreciated.
