I’m trying to understand the pricing differences between Sony Australia and Sony France, and I feel like I might be missing something obvious.
I'm based in Australia at the moment and will come back to France next summer.

I did a comparison for the Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 GM II:

• In France, it’s listed at around €3,000 on Sony website
• In Australia, it is currently around AUD 3,000 AFTER cashback (AUD 300 cashback already applied) on Sony website --> It comes out to roughly €1,840.

On top of that, if I understand correctly, when leaving Australia I could claim the 10% GST refund (TRS), which would bring the effective price down further to about €1,650.

So in the end, the same lens seems to be €1,350 cheaper in Australia than in France.

This feels almost too good to be true.

Am I missing something here?

Sorry in advance if my questions seem a bit naive, but I’m not Australian.

I’m selling my bike and would like to find a place where I can obtain a roadworthy certificate (I’m currently living in South Yarra). What is the usual price range for getting one done?

I also have a potential buyer who is offering to buy my bike without a roadworthy certificate in exchange for a lower price. What would be his advantage in doing that?

Is it legal to sell a motorcycle without a roadworthy certificate? Are there any particular precautions I should take?
