Am I late to the party or did this little connector pop up overnight?

I was riding down Greenfield, turning onto Second yesterday when I noticed that there's a little crushed stone path and very primitive curb cut/ramps to allow you to connect directly into Hazelwood Green. Anybody know what's up with this? I'm curious if it'll be expanded upon since as of now, you have to jump curbs to get from the sidewalk onto the biking path.

Anyone know the status of the cyclist hit near Ritter's Diner today?

I had the police scanner on somewhere around 5pm because of the storm and sirens. During that time, I heard mention of a vehicle vs. bike collision with injuries but haven't heard anything since. Hoping they're ok!

Was the Columbine/Fern Combo a mistake?

I planted these together, fully expecting to have to divide the ferns eventually, but only one of my columbine plants has grown tall enough to get over the shade canopy of the ferns. Is this one tall boy a fluke or do I just need to be patient? I'm considering thinning out the ferns but I really love the look of all my columbines would get this tall. (Pittsburgh, PA - 6B)
