EV Buying Advice
Good morning all, looking for some advice on purchasing a new EV with a budget of around €35k.
Having done a bit of research on it so far I have narrowed it down to the EV2 Earth Long Range and Renault 4 Iconic. This would be the primary car that I would use for driving to and from work, doing errands on the weekend and the very occasional trip to the countryside. Work is a short trip from D12 to D15 5 days a week of about 30kms a day so range shouldn't be an issue. I have a driveway and will be getting a home charger installed alongside the purchase.
They both seem to have the same specs with the Renault 4 Iconic having a heat pump and larger boot.
As I’m based in Dublin and would be mainly using it for city driving I‘m not really looking for anything too large and these both seem to be the perfect size. I currently drive a Polo so would not be too comfortable going to a much larger vehicle.
Currently have one child with plans for a second one so my head says go with the Renault 4 for the slightly larger boot, but I’m much more drawn towards the EV 2 in every other way. Kia are also offering a free charger and installation as part of their current deals so that would save me the cost of a charger.
Anyone have any experience with either of the cars above? Am I missing a glaringly obvious alternative that is in the same category? Second hand recommendations are welcome however I’m leaning towards new. The Inster is too small and the MG4 Urban has a great spec on the higher trim but I’m looking for something a little higher off the ground.
