Show me your old pups 😍

My <5year old bernedoodle (photo for pet tax of course) died of cancer, so I was asking on another post to see if many folks have had berners pass the 8 year mark. But I realized this is a wayyy cuter proposition, so share your old pups in the comments! 8+ years!

Has anyone had their bernedoodle live a long, healthy life? If so, what testing was done and what did you look for?

I lost my sweet "mini" bernedoodle (50lbs) to cancer just shy of 5years old. He was incredibly active and healthy - we didnt even know he had cancer until it was way too late.

I loved his temperament so much, and really want another bernedoodle, but I have read that mountain breed dogs are some of the most prone to illness out there, regardless of size.

I'm looking for some hope, and maybe advice on where to start. Has anyone had their berner for longer than 8 years? What testing can/should breeders be doing? What else can I do to up my chances of having a healthy dog and supporting good breeders?
