its the rounded shoulders humped neck. slouching, and forward jutting head-neck - spine- head alignment issues.

Yoga, stretching, other style of release would go far to help them recover.

It seems more prevalent I those pros who use a particular style grip &/or those whose technique at applying top spin leaves them open to overrotation of the arm thus rolling over of the shoulder bones& muscles.

Do the pros have PTs on duty or professional masseuse, or yoga instructors on duty at these events?

When I did the FF challenges decades ago, there was a tent full of them to help us and we all took yoga and had stretching classes. To prevent these specific things and others if course.

It brings your head and neck back to align more & better with your body.

These people are going to have some issues in their 40s and 50s, even if they don't feel it now

I have a friend who was a 3.42 who won in a local doubles tournament. He had an equivalent rated partner. After the tournament, his rating is 3.51.

It is permitted to play up. So for the next tournament , he is gojng to do a 4.0+ class.

His partner doesn't want to.

This brought a conversation about proper category for tournament play.

He was asked if a 3.1 should play in the 3.5+ class. He said no.

"Even if they won a tournament?"

He still said no. That they should continue to play in that category until their dupr is at least 3.45.

It seems open to debate here as some people insist that playing better players is the best way to improve.

Other insist that doing drills is the best way to improve .

Others add ( to the duggestion of drilling ) that you move up when you are within striking distance of the higher category.

So 3.42 -> playing 3.5 to 3.99

And

3.85 (?) -> 4.0 to 4.499

And what not.

Anyone else experience this? Do you jump right away or wait until you sre close yo the lower limit.

Keep in mind that the higher rated teams will absolutely try to destroy you so as you not kill their own rating.

edit: i did not consider that some players were not aware of "governing body" , bylaws rule regulations, enforcement thereof, & sanctioned tournaments relying on dupr. thatbolder player can play down. younger players are prohibited from playing in older categories etc.

In many organizations, the president can put in a ruling that you can play up 0.5 or whatever amount is decided voted on and accepted.

The TO must adhere to those regulations.

What they monitor is People Playing Down. A 4.3 can't play in a 3.5 category.

And for doubles, no partner can be above the ceiling of the category even if their average is within.
So a 4.3 can't partner with a 3.1and play in the 3.5+ class.

And certainly can't play in the 3.0 class.

I was not considering that some people have zero experience with this "governing body" concept. and that the governing body may be part of a larger group. local regional. county. state . etc. and each one belongs to the larger group that defines the rules and regulations of play.

The TO may make the tournament :

Official.

Unofficial.

If official, then it is sanctioned by the governing body and the TO must abide by those guidelines.

If unofficial, then it is un or non sanctioned and the TO abides by her own guidelines regarding ratings level. He may say 3.25 and below. 3.75 and below, on your own self assessment and have another group 3.75 and above. Or whatever.

Have age groups or let it be open age Or whatever.

the woman has gumption. She came up with the top 10 lists ( sort of ).

She has ALW as the MVP of the MLP.

and then after a number of other tit;es , she says that Megan Dizon was the biggest crashout.

Is this part of her job ? I have no idea if it's the consensus of hte people who run the MLP or if it's Anna BRights own thoughts on the subject.
