I built a free Microsoft certification study site — Descomplicando Cloud ☁️

Hi everyone! 👋

I wanted to share a project I've been working on for a while called Descomplicando Cloud.

The idea is pretty simple: whenever I study for and pass a certification, I try to organize what I've learned into study guides, notes, quizzes, diagrams, and other resources that might help someone else preparing for the same exam.

And everything is available for free. 😊

Most of the content is focused on Microsoft certifications and comes from my own study journey. Instead of keeping all those notes sitting on my computer after passing an exam, I thought it would be much more useful to turn them into something the community could actually use.

A small disclaimer: I'm originally a Portuguese speaker, so some materials are still available only in Portuguese. I'm gradually translating more of them into English.

Also, many of those translations were created with the help of AI. Because of that, there may absolutely be translation mistakes, strange wording, or technical terms that could be improved.

And that's actually one of the reasons I'm sharing the site here.

If you find something that is incorrect, confusing, poorly translated, outdated, or simply think "this could be explained much better", please tell me! Feedback and corrections are very welcome, and I'll use them to keep improving the material.

If any of the resources help you with your studies, I'd also really appreciate it if you could share Descomplicando Cloud with other people preparing for Microsoft certifications. ☁️

The goal is simply to make good study material more accessible to the community.

And if you've already used any of my materials, I'd love to hear what you thought about them. ❤️

Good luck with your studies and exams! 🚀

Passed MS-102.

Passed MS-102 on my second attempt — definitely a challenging exam
I passed the MS-102 exam today on my second attempt, and I have to say that it was quite difficult.
This time, I saw a lot of questions involving hybrid environments, external user collaboration settings, security roles, and some very up-to-date Microsoft Purview topics. Many of the questions were scenario-based, so understanding how the different Microsoft 365 services work together was more important than simply memorizing features.
My first attempt was a bit rushed. I had booked the exam using a voucher that was about to expire in three days, and honestly, I had not studied enough. For my second attempt, I gave myself around one month to prepare properly, which made a huge difference.
I know this certification is going to be retired, but I still really like its curriculum. Studying for it helped me understand Microsoft 365 administration much better and also introduced me to more of the Microsoft Defender ecosystem.
For my preparation, I mainly used study material that I created with the help of AI, based on the official exam topics, and completed a lot of MeasureUp practice questions and tests.
Overall, it was a challenging but valuable learning experience. I am very happy that I decided to try again!

Passed AB-730

Another certification achieved: Microsoft Certified: AI Business Professional 🚀

In my opinion, the AB-730 exam is not difficult, especially if you already use AI tools in your daily work, regardless of the platform. I dedicated around half a day of focused study, and I believe that can be enough for professionals who already have practical experience with AI.

Since I’m currently working toward joining the Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) program, this certification was one of the prerequisites in my path.

My main recommendation for anyone preparing for this exam is to first understand the Microsoft 365 Copilot ecosystem, especially features such as Copilot Chat, Copilot Pages, Prompt Gallery, agents, Researcher, Analyst, and how Copilot supports productivity and business workflows.

It’s a great certification to validate how Generative AI can be applied in a practical and business-oriented way.

Passed SC-300 — one of the hardest exams I’ve ever taken

I passed SC-300 today, and honestly, this was one of the hardest exams I’ve ever taken — harder than CompTIA Security+, at least for me.
I got a good score, but during the exam I had that awful feeling that I was getting everything wrong, even though I knew I was answering more than half of the questions consciously and based on concepts I had actually studied.
The exam was exhausting. A lot of questions had so much text. Some scenarios felt unnecessarily long, and there were many, many questions involving AD DS / hybrid identity concepts. At some point, I genuinely felt like the exam was trying to beat me by exhaustion more than by technical difficulty.
I finished with around 10 minutes left — maybe even less — and I had to answer two questions almost randomly because I was running out of time.
Surprisingly, I got only one question about Global Secure Access.
A few thoughts for anyone preparing:
MeasureUp could have helped me more in terms of getting used to the exam question style and timing. However, when I tried using it previously for MD-102, I felt the content was outdated for that exam, so I didn’t fully trust it this time. Still, I would recommend using MeasureUp as a test-taking practice tool, especially to get used to long scenarios and the way Microsoft phrases questions.
What helped me the most was building my own study material with Claude. That was honestly a huge help. I used it to organize concepts, explain difficult topics, create scenarios, compare services, and practice with realistic questions.
Topics I would strongly recommend reviewing:
Hybrid identity and AD DS concepts
Password Hash Synchronization, PTA, federation, Seamless SSO
Conditional Access
Identity Protection: user risk vs sign-in risk
PIM and privileged access
Access Reviews
Entitlement Management and Access Packages
External identities and cross-tenant access
Workload identities
App registrations vs Enterprise applications
Delegated permissions vs application permissions
Defender for Cloud Apps and OAuth apps
My advice: don’t just memorize definitions. The exam is scenario-heavy, and you really need to understand what each Microsoft Entra feature is used for, when to use it, and what problem it solves.
Also, manage your time. The long questions can drain you.
I’m very happy and relieved that I passed on the first attempt, but wow… this exam was intense.

Just passed the MD-102 exam today! 🎉

I wanted to share a few thoughts while everything is still fresh in my mind.

The exam had a lot of questions around inclusions, exclusions, assignments, targeting rules, and understanding when policies or configurations would apply (or not apply) in specific scenarios.

There were also many scenario-based questions — honestly, a lot more than I expected. Make sure you understand the reasoning behind the technologies instead of just memorizing concepts.

I also saw several questions related to ASR rules and MDM enrollment, so I’d definitely recommend spending time on those topics.

My biggest piece of advice: do as much hands-on practice as possible. Build labs, test configurations, break things, fix them, and work through real-world scenarios. Case studies and practical experience are far more valuable than simply reading documentation.

To be completely honest, I didn’t find the exam extremely difficult. That said, I work with some of the technologies covered in the exam on a daily basis, which definitely helped.

The funny part is that throughout the exam I had the feeling that I wasn’t going to pass. Especially during the case study section, I kept thinking, “Well, that’s it…” 😅

Looking back, I think the case study was actually one of my strongest sections, and I probably scored quite well there. It’s amazing how different your perception can be while you’re taking the exam.

I studied for about one week while balancing a full-time job, and somehow managed to pass with a score of 700.

Not going to lie… seeing that passing score pop up was a huge relief. My fellow 700-score colleagues know exactly what I’m talking about! 😂

Good luck to everyone preparing for the exam!

MD-102 - MeasureUP

Hello everyone, good morning.

Has anyone here recently taken the MD-102 exam and used MeasureUp for preparation?

I’m currently studying with a dedicated study guide, and I have the impression that some of the content and questions in MeasureUp might be a bit outdated compared to the current exam objectives.

Does anyone have any important feedback, tips, or recent experiences they could share? My exam is in just a few days, and I’d really appreciate any insights.

Thank you!
