London. 2026. I write this as a woman. My gym recently introduced mandatory women-only hours, locking male members out of the facility during specific blocks despite everyone paying the exact same full membership fee.

Beyond the obvious consumer issue of paying for a full-service gym only to be restricted based on sex, this trend sets a troubling precedent for broader equality. They are claiming this is "to give female members who may not otherwise feel comfortable using a mixed spa an opportunity to enjoy the space"
