MTH 311/312 and MTH 351 at OSU

I am signed up for MTH 311 this fall and plan on taking 312 in the winter. All I've heard about this series is that both classes are hard and proof-heavy. If anyone's taken either of these before, I'd like an insight on your experience in these classes, what homework/tests looked like, etc.

Also, I'm considering taking MTH 351 in the winter. I satisfy the course prereqs for 351, but the course recommends programming experience beforehand. If anyone's taken 351 before, do I actually need to know how to code before taking this class? Also, how hard was 351?

Dorm/Residence Hall Floor Maps

For those that will be living in the dorms on campus soon, here are the room maps to each building for when room assignments are released. Refer to Google Maps to see which direction your room will face. Things to note:

I tried my best to match rooms and their numbers, but there may still be inaccuracies. If you have lived in a building previously and disagree with my map’s room numbering, please DM me.
If your building/floor map isn't here, DM me. I can either DM a map or I don't have one for your specified zone.
Sackett Hall: Sackett has rooms on floor 1, but only in wings A, B, G and H. The last digits of room numbers on 1 are still the same as the upper floors.
Tebeau Hall: Tebeau has rooms on floor 1. The last digits of room numbers on 1 are still the same as the upper floors.
The colors I label each room with are irrelevant, no need to worry about if your room is labeled differently than the rest are.

Any info or pics of The GEM apartments?

I got off the waitlist for a standard studio in The GEM for fiscal year 2026-27. Does anyone have any experiences or advice living in The GEM that I should know about, or any pics of their room or common amenities? How many floors are in the building and how many elevators exist? If it helps I have the 1st floor. The OSU sites have hardly any info about The GEM. Also, does anyone have a map layout of The GEM so I can see where my room number is located in the building?
