Recommendations for online MA in school counseling programs

Does anyone have any suggestions for schools that offer a fully only/ asynchronous style masters program for school counseling that may also allow me to incorporate LMHC path as well? (I understand to get this degree you have to have in person internships, etc. Just looking for something flexible since I work Monday- Friday between 8:30-6.)

I currently live in Florida and ideally would like to start in the Spring. I won’t qualify for in state tuition in this state until after May/June 2027 so i’m exploring different options.

I’ve seen some chatter about Emporia State University, University of Toledo, Fort Hays State University, Gardner- Webb University.

Does anyone have any input on that or have any other suggestions? I’m looking for something at least somewhat affordable.

Advice for someone looking to pivot careers and become a school counselor.

I’m looking for advice! I have a bachelor’s in marketing that I graduated with in 2023. I am 23, going to be 24 this year. I have been working for a fortune 100 company in various roles, mostly corporate accounting though for the last 4 years. I am looking to pivot careers as I would love to do something a bit more fulfilling and less corporate controlled environment.

I’ve always been interested in teaching/ school counseling because I had a rough few years throughout my schooling with being bullied and then moving states in the middle of high school. I would love to be the person I didn’t have for others. I’m particularly interested in high school work.

I’m cautious to make the jump, 1. because I would have to commit to grad school and pay for that and 2. because what if I end up not liking it and I have a such a specific masters now in school counseling that I feel like I wasted it?

Does anyone who made maybe a similar jump have any advise, to either steer me towards making the jump or any reasons why maybe not to.

would love advice

hi, i would love some advice if anyone has any!

I currently work for a large company, a fortune 100 company to say the least.

I have worked here for 4 years and have had onerous different roles. I started from the bottom and made it to a sr level role with unlimited pto, 4 days in office and 1 at home, flexibility work life balance. I left that to move back to my home state that i missed. Took a serious pay cut and title cut and found myself back at square one within the company.

i’m stressing because im unhappy. I don’t miss my old job or life, but im not happy in this one. I feel like I have two options but both are unclear.

  1. stay with current company and work back up (not at a corporate level though due to not having that option once moved to new state)
  2. completely pivot and try something new, i’ve been thinking about teaching but it feels crazy going from corporate accounting to basically a title clerk and then to teaching idk. i feel stuck

I want to add that there’s one major perk the company offers that allows me to make additional money for myself (on my own) but still a perk i have through the company which allows me to have a large savings account as a person in their young 20s
