Work more and full FIRE or stop early and Barista Fire

27 year old M, As the title suggests I’m contemplating moving to barista FIRE but I’m struggling with the idea of just hanging on longer and going for Full FIRE

Net Worth: 650k

160k in brokerage
50k in retirement accts
12k cash
400k in property (Rental valued at 100k fully paid off, SFH* *valued at 450k with abt 150k left on mortgage)

HHI 200k/year

Based on expenses and income flowing in, I can safely transition to Barista FIRE (I work in healthcare so salary would still be fairly high working 20-25 hours/week) within the next 5 years

However if I hold out and stay the course for another 10-12 yrs I’ll be able to full FIRE.

Just looking for advice on people who transitioned to barista and what their experiences were leaving full time work, any regrets, anyone who wish they held out for full FIRE?

Healthcare Job Barista Fire

Hi,

Currently a 27M pharmacist with an annual household income of 195k/yr. Have about 260k net worth spread across retirement accts, taxable brokerage and a rental property. Looking to barista FIRE by ~35.

Many posts I see are people stepping away from their jobs entirely and into a new field, however healthcare is one of those fields where you can still work part time and make a decent amt of money.

Curious if there’s any healthcare workers in here that’ve barista fire’d in their field specifically. I eventually want to downgrade to part time/barista FIRE and still work as a pharmacist.

Wondering if there’s anyone else in a similar boat who downgraded to part time in healthcare and how much they had invested before feeling comfortable stepping away from full time?
