I’m completely new to Axolotls.
I adopted this 5yr old two weeks ago and I am trying to get him happy and healthy.
Are these spots on his head anything to be alarmed about? They don’t seem “fluffy” like a fungus.
He only really has toes on his one back foot 😂
I know everyone’s wells are different. But does anyone use their well water for tank top ups for their axolotl ? I’m in Ontario Canada.
I’ve been told our near by city water is great (after adding de chlorinator etc) but it’s a pain in the a$$ to drive 30 mins each way to go to someone’s house to fill up jugs.
This is a new pet to me.
I rescued a 5yr old axo. Its previous owner just used their tap water (I think it was well water) for fills, didn’t care about water temps etc.
It was in a too small of tank that was only filled 1/3rd full, no hides / decorations and the water was gross. So I’m trying not to overthink too much since he survived those conditions. Ha.
It’s now in a bigger tank, has decor and hides and clean water so right now it’s living a much better life already.
