Did you feel a difference right away after getting rid of contaminated items?

If I move into a new place without any of my contaminated items from my moldy house, should I feel a difference right away, if mold contamination was affecting me?

I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome 12 years ago (and think the house I was living in at the time was moldy, but didn't think of mold as a cause at the time). Recently I found out that the house I was in for the last 5 years had extensive black mold, and its the first time I started looking into if mold might be causing my health problems. So I'm still figuring out if what I thought was Chronic Fatigue Syndrome was actually mold related.

Matt Kelly? Or Alternatives?

Hi all,

I'm on Matt Kelly's mold facebook group and all his videos are trying to sell his products and services, and it's all very expensive. Does anyone have experience with his stuff? What was your experience?

Or are there other (hopefully cheaper) alternates to go to, to find ways to test your body and your new house and everything for mold, and to de-toxify?

Mold contamination

I moved out of moldy house, and into another house, and brought my clothes and other possessions to the new house. If I get rid of those possessions should the new house be mold free and safe to live in, or is it contaminated now because of the stuff I brought from the moldy house?

Musty Smell = Mold?

Hi,

I'm out of the moldy house, and might move in with a friend. I asked her if shes ever had mold in her house, and she said, "I haven't ever seen mold but under the sink smells kind of musty to me though." Any thoughts on if that is anything to worry about?

Antihistimines help mecfs?

I have really bad mecfs (hard to even stand up or go for short walks much of the time), and I just tried Zirtec for the first time (don't remember ever taking an antihistimine before). It immediately helped me to relax my nervous system, which is really hard for me to do a lot of the time, as I have bad anxiety and ptsd and when I'm laying down "resting" its often hard to really relax my mind/body/nervous system. I have a few questions it would be helpful to hear about other folks' experiences with.

Do others with bad mecfs use antihistimes to help them manage? Do you use them every day? Does this also mean I have MCAS?

Zyrtec immediately just relaxed my nervous system. Any other advice for possible MCAS?

Hi, after having mecfs over a decade I just tried Zyrtec for the first time 30 minutes ago and immediatedly my body feels more relaxed than it has in a couple months (I've had a lot of stress and my nervous system has been very activated). I'll still have to experiment, but just found out about MCAS, and this seems to indicate that I might have that. My mecfs has been really really bad for over a decade so anything that might help me relax and rest feels exciting.

Any advice on where to start exploring what might be helpful with possible MCAS? I already eat a pretty clean diet, and might try other antihistimines since it seems like different ones help more or less for each individual, but so far its kind of wild how nice the first 30 minutes of Zyrtec feels.

Switch From PAYE to New IBR?

Hi,

I'm recertifying my IDR repayment plan and it looks like the payments on PAYE and IBR will be the same. I have 4.5 years left until I get my PSLF loan forgiveness so I'm just trying to pay as little as possible until then. Is there any meaningful difference between PAYE and IBR for the situation I am in. TIA for any help!
