I was walking out of a grocery store when I saw someone smiling and waving in my direction. I smiled, waved back, and even said "Hi!"

Turns out... they were greeting the person standing right behind me.

We made eye contact for a split second, and I just awkwardly kept walking like nothing happened. I don't think I've recovered from the embarrassment yet.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who's done something like this. What's your most awkward public moment?
