Recomdari canapea

Daca firma respectiva ofera si montaj + carat pe scari contra cost, it's a win. Nu sunt din Bucuresti deci nu pot sa ma duc in atat de multe showroomuri sa vad canapele.

I'm Beginning to Think Originality Is Disappearing

I've been a bookworm for as long as I can remember. I grew up devouring books and never struggled to find my next five-star read. Fantasy, historical fiction, thriller, horror, gothic, romance—doesn't matter. I love to read a good book, no matter the genre.

But lately? It feels like I'm reading the same book over and over again.

The names change. The covers get prettier. The book edge gets decorated. The settings are different. But the characters, the dialogue, the romance, the banter, the smut, the plot twists, the cliches... it's all starting to blend together. Every FMC has to be the most special, the most powerful, the wittiest person in the room while being utterly breakable and delicate and small and doll like. Everyone has main character syndrome, and somehow every side character exists only to remind us how extraordinary the protagonist is.

And don't even get me started on the romance.

Why does every book need smut now? I'm not talking about books that are actually marketed as erotica—that's literally what they're for. But it feels like we can't go five chapters without another explicit scene.

Whatever happened to yearning? To slow burns that actually burn? To enemies-to-lovers where the characters genuinely have reasons to hate each other instead of exchanging a few sarcastic comments before they're ripping each other's clothes off? I miss the anticipation, the tension, the stolen glances—the feeling that these two people had to earn their happy ending.

Then there are the relationships. Why does "the greatest love story ever told" so often begin with the placeholder lover or ex? It doesn't automatically ruin a book for me, but after seeing the same setup over and over, it starts feeling less like character development and more like a shortcut to create drama and to avoid the virgin heroine plot. We don't want a very "experienced" heroine but not a virgin because that's so 80s so here comes the POS bf.

Let's not forget about the obsession with shock value. Characters have to be morally grey to the point of being unbearable. Every twist has to be darker, more disturbing, more twisted, more shocking, more unbelievable, more controversial than the last book. Remember Supernatural season 1 vs 7? We start with a more down to earth paranormal story about hunting monsters and after a few seasons, we talk about the devil, God, angels, archangels, end of the world and they come back from hell and revive themselves on a daily basis.

Maybe it's just me getting older and harder to impress. Or maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. But it honestly feels like every year I have to dig a little deeper to find books that I will actually remember after I finish it, not just another fast fashion book.

Lately, I've been feeling more book fatigue than book joy, and that honestly makes me sad because reading has always been my favorite hobby.

I saw your foraged goods and I'm raising you a weekend trip to the countryside

Zucchini, cucumbers, tomatoes, peaches and blackberries. Mom's veggie garden plus a little bit of foraging. Not too bad of a loot.

Half floof mat, half vampire

He broke the other's fang tip in his hood era, so now he's 1/2 vampire.

From surviving to thriving

We're soon reaching the 5 years together milestone and I was looking at before adoption pictures. Almost looks like a brand new cat. He's now a spoiled Velcro cat that absolutely loves belly rubs and people.

As the title says, I'm wondering why most of the romantasy books FMC need to have a placeholder bf that is either a jerk, dies, is a waste of pages, etc? Why the hell is this a common trope?

I want to read the story about the FMC and MMC not another failed attempt at a relationship. Am I the only one who hates this?
