Any of the girlies want come with me to Freundschaft Fest this Saturday?

I'm 29F and just moved to Wiesbaden from little old Neuseeland, so I'm looking to meet some new friends!

I thought it'd be fun to check out the American base, wander around the festival, and watch the fireworks on Saturday night. I'm also open to other suggestions if anyone has something fun in mind.

A bit about me: I'm initially a lil shy but warm up fast. I'm fairly outdoorsy, love reading, running, talking absolute rubbish, and generally being a bit silly once you get to know me 😄

I'm a native English speaker with beginner German (currently learning!), so English is definitely easier for me, but I'm always happy to practice my very basic German too 🤪

If you're keen, send me a message!

Struggling to learn a second Language - looking for advice

I was born hard of hearing (moderate hearing loss), and I've recently moved to Germany. I'm trying to learn German, but my hearing loss is making it much much harder than I expected.

When native speakers talk, the words often sound blended together and jumbled, making it difficult for me to separate individual sounds and recognize where one word ends and the next begins. I particularly struggle with lower-frequency sounds, which seems to be a challenge with German pronunciation.

I'm starting to feel a bit lost about how to approach this.

Has anyone here learned a second language while dealing with hearing loss? What strategies, tools, or accommodations helped you?

I'd love to hear about your experiences 🙏
