What Was the Anime That Got You Into the Hobby? Mine Was Death Note

Hey everyone!

Every anime fan has that one show that started it all For me it was Death Note I watched it on a whim stayed up way too late and have been hooked ever since

Here are a few popular gateway anime that I think pulled a lot of people in:

  • Naruto: A classic story of hard work friendship and never giving up
  • Attack on Titan: Intense shocking and impossible to stop watching.
  • One Piece: A huge adventure with some of the best worldbuilding out there.
  • Demon Slayer: Stunning animation and an emotional story.
  • Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood: Often called a perfect starter anime.
  • Spirited Away: A beautiful magical film that works for newcomers.

Let's talk:

  1. What was your first anime and why did it hook you?
  2. Have you rewatched it since? Does it still hold up?
  3. Which anime would you recommend to a complete beginner today?

Drop your answers in the comments. I'd love to see how everyones journey started!

  1. Monster: A brilliant surgeon saves a boys life and later realizes he saved a future serial killer Slow burn psychological thriller.
  2. Mushishi: Episodic calm and atmospheric A wanderer deals with strange supernatural life forms Perfect for winding down.
  3. Odd Taxi: Looks like a cute animal show but its a sharp mystery with a tightly written plot Trust me on this one.
  4. Vinland Saga: Starts as a Viking revenge story and turns into a deep story about violence growth and purpose.
  5. Steins;Gate: Time travel done right The first few episodes are slow but the payoff is huge.
