Runna’s marathon prediction feels way too optimistic compared to my other race times, anyone else?
5 weeks into Runna training for my first marathon and really enjoying it so far. It’s adjusted my pace a few times, and my predicted finish has dropped from ~4:30 to ~4:00. I was coming back from an IT band injury so put in a 5k estimate of 29 mins, and no 10k time when I set it up.
Here’s the weird part: my 5k, 10k, and HM “current times” all line up closely with (or are even slightly slower than) what my Garmin predicts. But for the marathon, Runna reckons I’ll only add 13 minutes onto 2x my half marathon time. That seems… optimistic, I’ve only been logging 30-40 kms per week.
Longest run so far is 18km, so still early days — but has anyone else noticed Runna’s marathon predictions run hot compared to other tools?
