Which rapid transit or light rail lines in the US have the shortest headways?

Bunching doesn't count :) Personally the shortest headways I've experienced on any individual route in the US were on the 7 train in NYC, with trains every couple minutes.

Will ticket prices ever go down?

I regularly paid under $100 for round trip flex tickets between Seattle and Vancouver BC a little under two years ago, booked as little as a week in advance. The same trip now averages well over $100. The only way I can find a <$100 round-trip is booking several months ahead. Inflation can't be that bad and prices were also high last year before fuel prices increased from the Iran war. However, I noticed a sharp increase in prices for this route after the FRA pulled the Horizon cars from service, so can we expect a reduction when the Airo cars come into service?

Concept: Extending the RapidRide D-Line to Shoreline South

The D Line's northern terminus at 7th Ave NW misses an opportunity to enhance the network by increasing frequent transit coverage in northeast Seattle and connecting to routes like the 5, E Line, and upcoming Stride BRT S3 Line to Bothell.

My proposal extends the line roughly 6.5 miles from 8.8 to a bit over 15 miles in line with the longest RapidRide routes such as the upcoming K and I Lines. It continues to the northeast on Holman Rd to N 105th St, Northgate Way, Lake City Way, turning west at N 145th, north at 5th Ave NE, and ending at Shoreline South. I decided not to directly serve Northgate Station to simply the route. Additionally, it is already served by the Route 40 which Metro plans to upgrade to RapidRide in the future.

The extension offers several benefits. It provides very high-frequency service on two east-to-west corridors: Crown Hill to Northgate, in conjunction with the Route 40, and Shoreline South to Lake City, in conjunction with the S3 Line. Furthermore, it addresses a gap in high-frequency transit in the heart of Lake City, following the upcoming discontinuation of the 522. Additionally, it provides direct connections to Ballard, Interbay, and Lower Queen Anne from Shoreline South, Lake City, and parts of Northgate not served by the Route 40.

What's the word on Pinehurst Station? Will it open before the World Cup?

The Sound Transit website says Q3 2026 and a user posted a rumor of a potential opening before the World Cup a few months ago.
