Athletic wear fabric help
Hi guys,
I’m in the early stages of starting an athleticwear / athleisure clothing brand in Australia and I’m currently researching into different fabrics.
Before I start reaching out to manufacturers, I wanted to get a better understanding of which fabrics to select per garment, to compare and contrast.
I’ve recently ordered physical swatches from Fabric Wholesale Direct and SwatchOn so I can start comparing things like composition, GSM, stretch, hand feel, finish and overall quality; they'll be delivered soon.
I’d be really interested to hear where others source fabric swatches or sample books from, particularly for:
- Performance fabrics for tees, singlets and shorts
- Cotton fabrics for premium lifestyle tees
- French terry, fleece and similar fabrics for hoodies, crews and pants
I’m based in Australia, but happy to order internationally.
If anyone has any for someone trying to learn more before approaching manufacturers, I’d really appreciate any help!
