Pet Neglect in Corpus Christi
Photographed is the backyard of a house in my neighborhood in Corpus Christi. As you can see, the two dogs, a brown dachshund and a blonde lab, are chained to the garage structure, mostly confined to concrete areas. The two dogs are never let off the bindings. This is how they live with minimal care given, at best, and never let to roam the yard. Whining is often heard. There are a lot of cases like this in Corpus, but this one I can possibly do something about.
The neighbors and I have called repeatedly for a week to have this sad situation addressed. We have called the city and have begun calling the police. Nothing has changed despite the, as I understand it, illegality of the situation. We have encouraged them to come and speak with us so we can show the officers what is happening. No one has contacted us.
I would like to see these dogs taken from this hellhole of a house and put up for adoption to at least have a chance at a decent life. Furthermore, these people should be heavily fined and barred from owning a pet of any kind. If these points cannot be achieved, I would rather see these dogs put down and in peace than living like this. A sad reality.
