Anyone who bought back their military time and paid the lump sum, how long did it take for them to credit you with your military time?
I received my lump sum amount but I'm leaving my fed job in 2 weeks. If I buy back my time it will give me 6 years in federal service. Just wondering if it's too late.
After 1.5 years with the DoN, I'm calling it quits.
Kinda sad about it too.

I spent 30 years in the civilian workforce and after my last layoff decided to work for the fed. Ya know, for that stability we hear so much about.

I was going to buy back my military time and retire in 10 or 12 years but there is no way I can last that long in this environment.

The DOGE shenanigans along with the fact that I'm forced to do WG work all day because we never seem to have the funds for me to do my GS job is too much.

It sucks because I think it's cool that I get to work on a Navy base each day and I work with some great people, but the administration has beaten me down....

I guess I picked the wrong time to join.

I was offered a civilian job today for more money and less bullshit. I'm going to take it.
