My latest playthrough was like a PG Cards Against Humanity

This run was a daily challenge and I gave my character a silly name off the cuff without thinking about it. Turned out to be my most entertaining playthrough yet.

Finding Artifacts

I'm wondering if anyone can confirm whether artifact items (items with randomly generated stats/effects such as mental mutations) can be found in normal ruins and not just historical sites...

So far the only artifact I've found in a non-historical ruin has been an artifact injector (which is a great find). Because of this, on most of my playthroughs I hit a point where I don't bother with ruins anymore because I just don't care about normal gear I can get from vendors. I hit the historical sites to see what the pink chests have and then I go finish the run.

I have gone through probably around a hundred non-historical ruins in my time with the game. Maybe a little more. One recent run, when I OP to the point of being nearly invincible, I spent a few hours just cranking through ruins to see if I could get any artifacts from them. That's when I found the artifact injector. I've never found any other artifact in a ruin and I would like to know for sure whether they ever generate other artifacts. Do pink chests show up anywhere outside of historic sites? Can artifacts spawn in blue chests? Are procedurally generated ruins worth running through once you no longer need their books and have access to all the high level vendors and cloning?
