Tomi Adeyemi recently disavowed the Paramount adaptation of her work and Amandla Stenberg, who is slotted to star as Princess Amari.

I was so excited to see this after reading the books, if only to see a large budget black fantasy that highlights Yoruba culture and deals openly with colorism, but now I'm scared it will be detoothed somehow by the powers that be in Hollywood.

I just needed to rant. Anyone else seen this?
