Does anyone remember when you didn't need to go through security to catch a flight?

A few of my friends said that it's always been a thing to go through security and bag check before catching domestic flights but when I was flying heaps around 10-20 years ago I remember just going to the airport and boarding the plane like I'd catch a bus. No bag check or anything. I'd just turn up at the airport, show my ticket at the door and walk on the plane.

Anyone else remember that or was I in another universe?

Can the Citizens Advice Bureau help with a personal grievance?

Last month I resigned from a job where I worked for 1.8 years and while I enjoyed the work and did super well at it, there was consistant bullying from my manager and when I told the directors who were above her nothing ever came of it except they seemed to punish me for saying anything at all.

This bully was my manager. My role was extremely independent as the receptionist and office administrator.
All I really needed from her as my manager was to teach me things about my role when I started as she used to be the office administrator. She didn't train me on anything and would claim to not know things when I asked her questions about the systems. I got quite close with the rest of the team and they admitted that she's done this to the previous office administrators and thats why they've burnt through at least 4 people in my role over the last 5 years.

I really enjoyed the job so I learnt on my own and was humming along quite nicely, this didn't seem to sit well with her and she would find things that I did wrong which could be a typo or a file saved in the wrong place (usually because I was never taught how things were done or she would tell me the wrong thing). She wouldn't tell me about these mistakes though, she would go straight to the directors to which they would initiate disciplinary meetings.
In these meetings my manager would bring up lists of minor mistakes that could have easily been fixed by just telling me or just by fixing them! Also, overtime she started lying about things, fully fabricating conversations that we'd had and making me look like I was making excuses for things.

I told the directors that this was happening and that it was affecting my mental health as I was constantly paranoid about what she was saying about me and I was always looking over my shoulder. I also mentioned to them that she asked me if I'd seen the video of Charlie Kirk being shot and when I told her I didn't like seeing violent video's online, She proceeded to shove her phone in my face and play the video followed by telling me gruesome details about the Chch mosque shootings. I was telling her to please stop and she just kept talking over me until I raised my voice and yelled "stop!".

The directors said that they would reach out to a third party HR company to help as they were friends with her and didn't know how to deal with it. The only thing they ended up doing was initiating weekly meetings with her so that they can mediate our meetings about the administration within the company. These meetings turned into her ambushing me with more made up mistakes and the directors beleived her and constantly implied that I was incompetent at my role - everyone else in the company said that I was great at my job.

It got to the point where I was burnt out just trying to make sure that the manager had nothing to come at me for but every Friday during these meetings it would be the same lies while the directors asked me why I was doing so badly. We have meeting minutes for all of the meetings within the company and reading over the minutes for these "admin meetings" it's clear that they were designed to tear me down, all while I was doing a bloody good job - my teams words not mine.

There was a lot more going on. Things like her showing up hours late and leaving early, leaving for 5 hours for a hair appointment and getting paid for it while I had to apply for annual leave to take an hour off to go to the doctors, despite all employees having a weekly paid "wellbeing hour" for appointments or to go to the gym. or whatever.

I finally quit with no other job lined up, even though I was applying for them, I just couldn't take it anymore. I was having really dark thoughts and staying in bed all weekend dreading my life as I was constantly being told that I was sh*t and not being listened to when I told the directors that she was lying about me (I even provided proof!).
I've had numerous team members tell me that I should take them up for a personal grievance because they could see what was going on. I've emailed a few "no win no fee" lawyers but they're not interested. I need some sort of justice wether that be compensation or even an apology. I'm the one left with depression, no job and no income.

Will the Citizens Advice Bureau be able to help? Anyone have any advice?

They clearly know what they're doing and they're probably already sh*tting on the next office administrator that they've hired.
