Calling the J-1 Community: Help Me Find a Daytime Hospitalist Waiver Position!

Hi everyone! I’m a PGY-3 Internal Medicine resident looking for a J1W daytime hospitalist position starting July 2027. I’ve been applying for over three months but have struggled to move beyond recruiter calls or first interviews. Connections within hospitals seem to make a big difference, so I’m reaching out to our J-1 community for help.

I’d truly appreciate any leads, referrals, or introductions. Please DM me if you know of an opportunity. I’d be happy to share my CV. Thank you for your support!

What I am looking for : Daytime hospitalist or 7 on 14 off nocturnist , Closed ICU/or Open but intensivist on site , J-1 waiver, No geographical preferences, no other criteria

When should I expect to sign for a job as PGY-3?

I know it is only July but I feel like It is getting late for me, I am on J-1 Visa probably that is contributing to the difficulty of getting one,

My only criteria has been just closed-ICU and day time, I don't even have any geographic preferences either, I have been looking almost beginning of this year when I was PGY-2, so I am wondering if this is still okay to not have it signed or I am being late.

Thank you so much!

IM PGY3, how do you get job offer?

On J1 visa, IM PGY3(graduating next year)

I have been applying(by clicking applying or emailing) on websites like doccafe, practicematch, practicelink, etc.

But I don't think I have ever gotten any replies, and I think I have applied to really a lot of them.

Am I doing something wrong?
