you’re not maximizing the use of AI, use it to turn notes to audio while writing! (audio & kinesthetic learners)
before i mastered using AI, i’d just throw my professors sent documents, and PPTs into Gemini Notebook to make reviewers, summare readings, or explaining things I was too tired to read with a dry prompt of; **“make a reviewer for me, keep it short, and cut the unnecessary details,”** type of command.
Then I started having it turn my notes into a short audio explanation while I was writing them down, and suddenly studying felt less like copying information and more like processing it twice.
It’s especially useful when I’m trying to stay focused on handwritten notes. I’m reading the idea, hearing it explained, and physically writing the important parts instead, plus, I can also freely do something else while listening to it. Since moving around while listening to something helps me retain information better.
here’s what I did for my upgraded reviewer:
- **Turn your notes into a mini lecture.** Paste your notes into the AI tool and ask it to explain them naturally, like a teacher talking for 5–10 minutes. Keep the audio focused on the concepts instead of making it an entire audiobook of your entire PDF.
- **Listen while rewriting, not while scrolling.** Play the audio while you make handwritten notes, diagrams, timelines, or solve examples, or while you’re doing physical work. You’re processing the same information through listening and active note-making instead of passively listening in the background.
- **Make the AI pause for retrieval.** Tell it to stop after each major concept and ask you a question before continuing. Now your short study session becomes: listen - write - recall - correct, instead of “AI talked at me for 20 minutes.”
let me know if this worked for you!
