Career advice

I am a senior in college looking for mostly a data science / data analyst /data engineer role but I have also been applying to swe roles. I am interested in fintech/finance. ( I like working with money related things).

I will be a new grad in spring 2027 . I live in NY but it is still very competitive here.

I have had no luck hearing back for first round interviews only the tedious amounts of online assessments from various companies. I have applied to full time new grad, entry level jobs, and internships.

Should I apply for junior roles as well? I don’t think I’m qualified enough.

My strong suit is not leet code but I am working on it.

My gpa is also not that good it’s only 3.1/4.0

However many internships require you to graduate in December and spring 2028 as well for some reason but even those I have applied to those as well.

Is my resume an issue?
What steps can I take to improve my interview rate instead of getting ghosted.

Any other advice is appreciated!
