Wait, how is the ending a win in Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 3?

I'm finally catching up with the animated universe and just finished the Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 3 and I'm confused about a couple things I haven't seen people talking about and wanted to discuss here

  1. Was Wonder Woman's sacrifice even a sacrifice? I don't understand why it's framed as this big sacrifice when a) she's hated her immortality this entire time b) she was basically no longer going to exist anyways and c) she still exists in the final "prime" earth. She's really not sacrificing more than anyone else. She still gets to exist and now gets to be mortal. I guess that one iteration of her will no longer live on as a part of prime Diana but I feel like effectively either way that Diana ceases to exist so her sacrifice really doesn't hold any weight for me.

  2. How is the prime world any different than what would have happened if the anti-monitors erased them and started over. Again, all these characters effectively cease to exist either way so why is being incorporated and reborn into one prime character seen as better than being erased and restarting? Is it that they were worried they wouldn't exist when the anti-monitors rebuilt the universe? Or that the prime earth is a better earth than random chance? What makes prime earth so good? Is it like guaranteed no big bad things like Apokolips War would happen again and that's why they chose prime earth? It just feels like 6 of one half a dozen of the other. As the title says, how is this a win for our heroes?
