Interested in Attending ERAU Prescott for Grad School, but Hesitant

Prescott has less than 1% Black residents, and Black student enrollment on the Prescott campus was only 2% in 2023 (source: Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Prescott | Data USA). I’m not surprised given the location. I wouldn’t force myself to attend if I truly did not want to go, but it would take time to adjust to being one of the few Black students on campus, if I did decide to go.

Can anyone who has attended or currently attends honestly describe the race relations on campus and in the surrounding city? All substantive contributions are welcome. Thank you.

Edit: Based on the responses I received, or the clear lack of them, my post obviously made some people uncomfortable. That discomfort likely made it easier for them to dismiss or downvote it, and that’s fine. Many others may simply lack firsthand experience with Prescott because they haven’t attended or aren’t currently attending the campus, and that’s understandable, too.

I’d rather receive no responses than comments based on hearsay or highly personal anecdotes that don’t accurately reflect the current reality at Prescott. I’m also aware of how small and niche both this university and subreddit are, so that likely contributes to the low engagement as well. Regardless, I will continue seeking real answers elsewhere and decide whether ERAU Prescott is truly the right fit for me.

At the beginning of the pandemic, I (32M) decided to give keto a try for the first time, and it worked wonders for me. I went from 199 to 155 in a year. I combined keto, no alcohol, no sugar (obviously), and tons of cardio, and I supplemented that with weight training as well. I went to the gym six days a week.

To my surprise, I managed to keep the weight off for three years, even while being a chronic pot smoker. Around April 2023, I slowly started to regain it. I can go two to three days without sugar or carbs, and then I slip back into the habits that caused me to gain all the weight back, and more, in the first place.

I am 5'9" and have been hovering around 212–220 over the last year. Negatives aside, I have doubled my daily step count over the last year, but I know sleep and diet matter most. The added caveat is that I am still finishing my undergrad degree and am financially challenged at the moment, so I don’t necessarily have the money to eat super clean. If I do get back on keto, it will likely be “dirty keto.”

Do any of you have tips from your own experience of being on keto, taking a long break, and then successfully getting back on it again?
