Fixing/Diagnosing a broken RE-303

I've just acquired a pretty broken RE-303 and I want to have a look to see if I can identify the problem.

I've downloaded the build guide and the original 303 manual and am planning to get it open and test certain points within the circuit. I'll either get it to a tech with a better understanding of what exactly is wrong, or try to fix it myself if it's as simple as a component or two needing to be swapped out.

My question is what do I need besides an oscilloscope and a multimeter? Is there a way to power the synth that isn't from the mains to be doing the testing? Also just any general advice if anyone has done something similar would be greatly appreciated

Kick Drum Circuit component question

I've just received the Kick Drum circuit design book by Moritz Klein

It has a list of components that you need to buy to make the stuff in the book but I'm already stuck when trying to find them; firstly it says under resistors - "1M x 2", but when I search I get options for 1/2W or 1/4W, the book doesn't state which one. Is it not stated because it doesn't matter? This is case for every resistor listed (a lot)

Next there's capacitors - "47uF (electolytic)", again I find that there's tonnes of different voltages available for 47uF electrolytic caps. I'm guessing this is also the case for all caps.

There's then all sorts of other components which I strongly suspect will be the same.

Can I just buy any as long as the part that he is written is relevant?

Thanks

I've got a Deckard's Voice which I'd like to take out of my main rack and use as its own, standalone synth in a portable set up. It would be the only bit of eurorack, so I want to build a case (I know I can buy cases but I'd like to make my own as the 4M case isn't deep enough and the only one I can find that is doesn't come with power).

Does anyone know where to get a power supply which I can build into the case? Or alternatively somewhere I can learn to make one which is as small as possible? I've seen some instructions online for DIY solutions but they're for larger cases and my electrics knowledge isn't sufficient for me to be comfortable deviating from tutorials and removing or changing the components to suit a small case such as this.
