How to answer "are you interviewing for any other jobs?" during an interview?

Twice now, in separate interviews, I have been asked if I am currently interviewing for other jobs. They follow it up with something along the lines of wanting to know for timings. That explanation does not make sense to me and I assume they want to know how much competition there is for the role.

But I want to know is there a correct answer to this question? Are they hoping to hear a specific response?

I think I have been underpaid for overtime?

I started working for a retail company in England in mid-April. I only received my first pay at the end of May because of this. Despite getting the money in my bank account, I didn't receive a payslip. I really wanted to see it because we are paid overtime in quite a convoluted way, and I wanted to make sure it was correct.

It took 2.5 weeks of me hounding HR and payroll to receive it, apparently due to an automated onboarding not being automated, and the only 2 contacts for HR I have being on holiday at the same time.

I finally got my payslip today, and I think I have been underpaid. The hourly rate for my overtime pay was given as £14.57. [Edit: this number confused me, so I called one of the store managers, who explained that this number is likely holiday accrual pay being added on]. My normal hourly base pay is £13.45 (living wage). From the little research I did, my understanding was that holiday accrual pay should be an additional 12.07%, which should instead put it at £15.07.

When I raised this to HR, they told me that holiday accrual pay is at 8.33%. But my understanding is that this percentage is out of date and they are thus underpaying me.

Can anyone who has a better understanding of this please advise what the correct percentage is?

Edit: Sorry I realise I should've included some additional information. My contracted hours are 16 hours per week, however I regularly work overtime, and my average week is instead usually 25-30 hours.
