Iridescent Ocean Jewel – Wavecatcher Miyu [English Trailer]
youtu.bePSA: Wavecatcher Miyu's A1 in English is written incorrectly, and implies it was buffed from CN/TW/KR when it's not the case.
A1 Offshore Paradise
Current Text
Decrease SP Cost of Catch a Wave by 40%, and increase max Offshore stacks by 2. When Surf is active, extend duration of all buffs/debuffs applied by 1 turn.
Actual Text
Decrease SP Cost of Catch a Wave by 40%, and increase max Offshore stacks by 2. When entering Surf state, extend duration of all buffs/debuffs applied by 1 turn.
What's the Difference?
"When Surf is active" vs "When entering Surf state":
> When Surf is active
- The former implies the effect is continuous while Miyu is in the Surf state, i.e. that this effect stacks with the existing Paddle Out {Skill 3} effect and Rebellion would last 5 turns when cast while Surfing.
> "When entering Surf state"
- The latter implies the effect only triggers under a specific condition, when you are using Paddle Out {Skill 3} [A5 and lower] and enter the Surfing state.
- e.g. You are not in the Surfing state, Rebellion is already cast upon Miyu with 3 turns remaining, and she uses Skill 3 to enter the Surfing State.
- Rebellion is increased to 4 turns due to this effect, then because the her turn ends, it counts down by 1. With the net result being all active effects remain at the duration they were at before she used this skill.
Due to this wording this part of A1 is actually lost when Miyu reaches Awareness 6. Because Miyu enters the Surfing State at the start of combat and it lasts permanently. So only effects like Auto-Mataru would benefit be extended.

Closing
I've observed in other gachas that unintended effects written like this, implies false advertising and could warrant the developer to actually buff the character in question to match the advertised description. What do you think?
Confirmation of Dates & Other Things
Howler entering Standard
All banners are ending simultaneously for the patch on August 13th. Even Wavecatcher Miyu is going away. Signifies the Gold Ticket, Cogntitie Shard, Targeted Extra Reward, Exchange Weapon case pools will be updating to accommodate these changes.
Turbo is not likely Standard till the end of October or early November.
Battle Pass confirms next Patch Dates
- 4.6: July 30th -- Wavecatcher Miyu {2 weeks}
- 4.7: August 13th -- Berry {2 weeks}
- 4.8: August 27th -- Likely Blitz {2 weeks}
- 4.9: September 10th -- Bui #2? + New Battle Pass {2 weeks?}
Speculation:
- 4.10 September 24th -- ??? {3 weeks?}
A patch date that aligns with the end of Patch 5.3.2 on the CN side. People are assuming this to be a Sync patch to celebrate the Persona Series' 30th anniversary (September 20th 1996).
Ch. 4 Main Story Delivery
Since Patch 4.7 is likely Berry, this means 2nd part of Ch.4 is coming up next, and will swiftly only be a 2-week patch.
The 3rd Part of Ch.4 was originally delivered alongside Bui #2 (CN's Half Anniversary character). However due to the shift of patches, Part 3 might be closer to Part 2, which means less downtime between Main Story Updates. Or it's possible the Main Story may be decoupled from it's original patch and shifted elsewhere.
Part 4 or the finale of Ch. 4 is tied with L.Notte. With the Sync Patch pushing the release further out, this might not be till November 12th.
We'll need to see if they plan to shift other releases. Mitsuru and Fuuka who are sandwiched in between could be moved as long as they maintain their release order (Mitsuru debuting before Fuuka). It's possible they might shift the story to a different patch to accomodate the Main Story Quest Event that is usually for 45 days...
For now, but subject to change:
- Ch. 4 Part 2 -- August 13th
- Ch. 4 Part 3 -- September 9th
- Ch. 4 Part 4 -- November 12th
My Ideas for Improving Blitz, who launched in a rather awkward state and then was later outclassed.
I decided to take a look at fan favorite character who is upcoming, that a lot of people suggest is not meta relevant due to the popularity of pierce buffs and standard character Turbo existing, and the future Sabotuer: Koromaru. My goal was to make her feel more like a premium 5-star support, because Strategists get way too much value, so here's an attempt to make her stand out more and still provide uniqueness even with Koromaru existing. Let me know what you think about Blitz in general or the how Sabotuers pre-Koromaru feel/perform.
My Rework For Kumi Katayama (Blitz)
Talents
Admonition
| State | Effect/Desc |
|---|---|
| Current | When allies attack downed foes, increase their Attack by 30%. |
| Proposed | When allies attack downed foes, increase their Attack and Damage Dealt by 25%. |
| Explain | Compared to Standard Turbo, who gives 30% DMG to Downed Foes, I thought it would be best to amplify and diversify this effect. |
Passionate
| State | Effect/Desc |
|---|---|
| Current | During battle, when Katayama's Speed is above 100, increase Attack by 24 for every point of Speed above 100, up to 1920. |
| Proposed | During battle, when Katayama's Speed is above 100, increase Attack by 24**, Critical Rate by 0.5%** for every point of Speed above 100, up to 1920 Attack and 40% Critical Rate. |
| Explain | This will adjust Katayama's Revelation Stat Budget to lean more towards Critical Damage, further contributing to overall score increase. She also has Critical Rate sources from Shock (A1), Weapon (R0), Burning Soul (A6). |
Weapon
5★ Ironsworn Rider
| State | Effect/Desc |
|---|---|
| Current | Increase Speed by 15. After user uses [Secret Art: Lightning Legs] {Skill 3}, increase critical rate by 9.0 for 2 turns. When a foe is knocked down while Katayama is on the field, increase target's critical damage taken by 30.6 for 1 turn. |
| Proposed | Increase Speed by 15. After user uses [Wings of Passion] {Skill 1}, increase user's critical rate by 9.0% and increase foes critical damage taken by 10% for 3 turns. Permanently inflict foes with this effect: If foe is knocked down while foe has [Devastation] or [Break], increase target's critical damage taken by 20.6% for 1 turn. |
| Explain | Increasing the duration allows Skill all subsequent skills to benefit from increased critical rate. I've lowered the Downed Critical Damage Bonus, so that the weapon also provides a benefit during the turn the enemy is not Downed. The permanent debuff is to ensure that even if Katayama is used with Fuuka, this weapon's effect will still trigger |
Skills
Thunderous Judgement {Skill 2}
| State | Effect/Desc |
|---|---|
| Current | ...and decrease Down Points by 1, then inflict [Devastation]... |
| Proposed | ...and decrease Down Points by 2, then inflict [Devastation]... |
| Explain | This will allow Blitz to down foes when attacking non-ELEC weak foes with Super Limit S2 on single target encounters more easily when combined with A1 effect. |
Highlight and A0
Highlight
| State | Effect/Desc |
|---|---|
| Current | Deal Elec damage to all foes equal to 317.6% of Attack, with a 50% base chance to inflict Dizzy for 1 turn. After using Highlight, decrease target's Defense by 29.3%. This effect is permanent and cannot stack. Additionally, increase target's damage taken by 19.5% for 3 turns. |
| Proposed | Deal Elec damage to all foes equal to 317.6% of Attack, with a 50% base chance to inflict Dizzy for 1 turn. After using Highlight, increase the target's Critical Damage Taken by 25% and increase target's damage taken by 19.5% for 3 turns. If foes do not have [Devastation] inflict it to all targets, additionally if Katayama has Super Limit inflict [Break]. |
| Explain | With the game's structure, support HLs are meant to amplify dmg, tying Def Reduction means this HL must rigidly be priortized in the beginning of combat. There also doesn't seem to be a method to transfer Devastation/Break to new targets (Gallery of Desire). |
A0 Guidance of the Efficient
| State | Effect/Desc |
|---|---|
| Current | After Katayama uses [Wings of Passion], unlock [Secret Art: Lightning Legs]. [Secret Art: Lightning Legs] can ignore all affinites to heavily decrease Down Points, then increase [Devastation]'s Defense Down by 10% + 2.22% for every 10 points of Katayama's Speed for 1 turns, up to 40%. |
| Proposed | After Katayama uses [Wings of Passion], unlock [Secret Art: Lightning Legs]. [Secret Art: Lightning Legs] can ignore all affinites to heavily decrease Down Points, then increase [Devastation]'s Defense Down by 40% + 2.22% for every 10 points of Katayama's Speed for 1 turns, up to 40%. |
| Explain | We've simply added the old HL Defense Reduction to the A0. |
Awareness
A1 No Quarter for Evil
| State | Effect/Desc |
|---|---|
| Current | When Katayama knocks down a foe, decrease target's max Down Points by 1. This effect is permanent; [Break] increase target's critical damage taken by 30% more; When Katayama deals Elec damage, there is a 100% base chance to inflict the target with Shock. |
| Proposed | ... Increase user's Ailment Accuracy by 40%. |
| Explain | This will help ensure Shock lands, and lessen dependency on Revelations. |
A2 Guided by Justice
| State | Effect/Desc |
|---|---|
| Current | After Katayama knocks down a foe with a skill, increase target's Downed Damage Taken by 10% for 1 turn; Then increase all allies' Attack by 10%. Stacks up to 3 times. This effect is permanent. |
| Proposed | When a foe is knocked down while Katayama is on the field, increase the target's Downed Damage Taken by 10% for 1 turn; Then increase all allies' Attack by 40%. This effect is permanent. |
| Explain | Ensuring this activates even if someone else down's the foes, also removing this stacking mechanic so it's active from turn 2 onwards, instead of reaching full potency by turn 4. This should still trigger if she is set to Fuuka backup. |
A4 Blazing Radiance
| State | Effect/Desc |
|---|---|
| Current | Highlight Enchanced: After using Highlight, increase foe's damage taken by 20%. This effect is permanent and cannot stack. |

| Explain | Improves the survival aspect to save other allies. She is a Teacher after all. |
Queen and Messa are receiving Mindscape Core in CN's Miku patch.

Paid Bundles Not Implemented in Global
Hi, it's me again, sorry
So, I've been biding my time for 4.1.2 since there were several changes made to the game following the post CN 1st anni patch (4.0.0) and we're currently approaching the Akihiko patch, and yet these changes still haven't come.
history lesson
Back in 2025 when Ange first came out, there were some hurdles players had to face when the game shifted from 2-weeks to 3-week updates.
- All the rewards required adjusting, such as from NG, SOS, and Jewels from content.
- Paid Bundles were adjusted and new ones were added.
Here's the article where the devs addressed feedback after 4.0: https://www.bilibili.com/opus/1055703944954642441/
Interestingly, via mail they receive 300 jewels and usually have some 7-day event for the finale of every patch.
But what I wanted to bring up was actually the shop bundles they added. To my suprise these bundles, are actually pretty high value (jewels per $). I imagine many goldfish/minnow type players would apperciate these deals as most of them are $10 or less deals.
My docs
I've created a document to highlight these deals: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1htpEQ57D1eOYbDGZlE8BtpLI-XTzzaF8l-55iEznWIQ/edit?usp=sharing
These bundles are also priced on my patch compilation document: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KmLUs1Cpp2WuDQZYHCW1xzCVCThWCB6R2VR5pFuLixE/edit?usp=sharing
In case you can't open Google, I will put a table of these deals here:

There are also some other differences, such as Ltd II sets being purchasable twice per patch, and the mindscape whale bundles being purchasble up to 3 times. These are mostly for whales. But I think these cheaper sub $10 bundles are pretty good value, and would go towards improving their revenue from smaller spenders.
Here is the CN Yukari Patch Notes that go over some of these bundle changes: https://www.bilibili.com/opus/1069350885667110913/
thoughts?
Maybe it's because we haven't crossed our 1st year anniversary and haven't yet confirmed if we are sticking sticking with 3 weeks yet.
