So I was re reading En La Liga and found an interesting detail that apparently Radunga was the captain for the Brazilian National Team which felt off somehow because I always thought Rivaul would've been the captain instead

So I went to check on the early chapters of Road To 2002 and low and behold Rivaul is indeed the captain of Brazil during the Road to 2002 era

I thought to myself this would've been an extremely weird retcon or mistake for Takahashi to do almost decades apart for what I thought would've been no reason at all

That is until I looked a bit into the player Radunga was based on, that being the defensive midfielder for Brazil himself Dunga

Dunga who was not originally the captain took over the captaincy for Brazil due to Rai's ( The previous captain for Brazil ) performance during the group stage and lead them to victory in the 1994 World Cup

So this got me thinking of two different possibilities :

A ) Radunga was the original Captain for Brazil when they won the world cup prior to 2002 and Rivaul was recently selected as the captain for Brazil in preparation for the 2002 world cup

B ) Rivaul was the original captain for Brazil but because of an injury mid tournament he was benched while Radunga took over as captain in his stead

I like the second theory more since not only would it reference a real event that happened ( although the reasoning for why Rai and Rivaul being benched would be different ) but it also would make this scene in Rising Sun where Radunga gives back the captain mark to Rivaul hits harder

Or this could be a hidden third possibility that Takahashi just forgot who he was planning to be the captain of Brazil at the time since Radunga wasnt introduced yet at that point😓

So the what I assume to be last major trailer for Captain Tsubasa was just released and it contained a lot of information for the game to which I would like to point out

1. New Stars

The first thing we see in this trailer is the alternative story exclusive to the game where Germany beats Brazil, in this cutscene we have the confirmation that Schweil Teigerbran from the Rising Sun storyline will be part of the team alongside Heine and the rest of Germany main characters

After that we could see a cutscene for the "New Star" player where he reminisce over the last Junior Youth ( Which I assume he was part of?) and possibly a confirmation where The New Star Player Cutscenes Could all be voiced

Afterwards are tid bits about the character creation system and the confirmation that The New Star player could be switched between a field player and GK by changing the super skill slots

Finally we also have the confirmation that Minato Gamo Will be the All Japan Youth's Coach, although saying that we still don't have any confirmation/tease about Real Japan, so it could possibly be a completely different story with Gamo

2. Legendary / Advanced / Rivalries

The next portion of the trailer is about the alternative stories for the game, locked behind the Legendary / Advanced modes

We could see the already confirmed matches in the story mode trailer before, that being :

Asia Qualifier :

Uzbekistan -> Thailand -> Saudi Arabia -> China

World Youth Group Stage :

Mexico -> Uruguay -> Cameroon

World Youth Knockout Stage :

Sweden -> Argentina -> Netherland -> Brazil

We get a visual representation of how it works where in either Legendary / Advanced, the matches are altered to :

World Youth Knockout Stage :

Senegal -> France -> Spain -> Germany

So I assume the rest of the teams not used yet would be ultilized during the other Legendary / Advanced mode with my personal prediction being :

Asia Qualifier :

Indonesia -> Thailand -> Saudi Arabia -> South Korea

World Youth Knockout Stage :

England -> Italy -> USA -> Canada

Alongside this, we get confirmation for new important characters for all nations included in the trailer :

Germany : (23) Teigerbran [FW?] ( In a private demo he was a designated as a forward, i'm guessing to not clash with Heine?)

3. Misaki's Injury

During the France Match we could see that the plotline of Misaki Injuring his leg during World Youth is in the game, although only confirmed to be a part of the France Match so far, no confirmation on it for the main story

4. Clubs

In the last portion of the game we got confirmation that clubs will be in the game, those being :

1. Sau Paulo ( Tsubasa + Pepe )

2. Flamenco ( Santana + Leo )

3. Boca Juniores ( Diaz + Pascal? )

4. River Plate ( Hino + ? )

5. Gremio ( ? )

I assume these will be the replacements for the "Choose a Middle School to be a part of" for the New Stars mode which would then let you participate in the Copa Libertadores

5. Things To Note Of :

1. There doesnt seem to be a distinction between the New Stars Mode and the Normal story mode, so I assume there will not be a "Episode of Tsubasa" and instead you start off in New Stars instead

2. With the changing New Star Character to a field player / GK by changing their super skill feature being added, there is a high chance we get to see Forward Wakashimazu in the game's story in some way

3. No Italian Club like Inter , Sampdoria and Juventus leads me to believe they'll be free updates like the other middle schools in RoNC?

4. Canada having upwards of 5 Confirmed important characters leads me to believe they'll be the final boss in one of the alternative routes ( Possibly to coincide with then being one of the host for this year's world cup )

5. No mention or tease of the RJ7/11 leads me to believe they are not in the storyline and they'll probably be relegated to mentions or cameos only

6. The USA not showing off the No 22 of their team is odd since they're including Raymond I assumed he'll also be there, so it's still a bit of mystery of his inclusion ( or Possibly DLC? )
